Secure Computing Corporation has announced a version of its URL filtering solution, SmartFilter 4.2 with TrustedSource. The new version provides granular protection against today's Web 2.0 threats, allowing companies to leverage Web 2.0 technologies without compromising corporate policy. SmartFilter 4.2 marks the fourth Secure Computing product integration with TrustedSource, the company's global reputation system.
The SmartFilter v4.2 enables organizations to monitor Internet use while taking effective steps to provide appropriate control over outbound Web access. It utilizes TrustedSource to provide source-based reputation scores for URLs, domains, and IP addresses as well as content-based reputation scores for web page content, messages, attachments, and images. Real-time scoring is used to detect and prevent web security threats such as spyware, phishing, and other malware.
