Quantum Corp. has announced the Scalar 50, an entry-level tape library designed to provide reliable data protection for small- to medium-sized storage environments. Suited for small- to medium-sized storage environments, the Scalar 50 scales from 38 slots up to 76 slots by adding one module to meet challenge of unforeseen data growth. The solution integrates with disk systems and supports disk-to-disk-to-tape data protection strategies. In addition to leveraging StorageCare Vision data management and reporting solution, library offers support for full- or half-height tape drive formats and operates in direct-attach and SAN environments.
