AMIC Communication Expands Foundry Partnership with SilTerra in RFCMOS Technology

(Business and Technology News, 03 Apr 2008 )

SilTerra Malaysia has announced the foundry partnership with AMIC Communication (AMICCOM), a fabless RFIC semiconductor company based in Hsinchu, Taiwan, for the manufacturing of AMICCOM's RFIC products using SilTerra's 0.18-micron RFCMOS technology.

"0.18-micron RFCMOS process maturity and accuracy of RF models are our key criteria in selecting of foundry partner and SilTerra has demonstrated their capability in meeting our stringent RF design requirement.", commented by Mr. Tzeng San Tan, President of AMICCOM.

"SilTerra has been constantly providing our designer very great support by offering RF design kits and models to ensure our RF circuit design is accurately & smoothly designed into SilTerra's 0.18-micron RFCMOS technology. Several new products, such as 2.4GHz Tx/Rx low power transceiver for 2.4GHz wireless data communication used in game consoles and PC peripherals, already been qualified and we are ramping up to full production." he said.

"We are glad to have AMICCOM as our strategic foundry partner. Both AMICCOM and SilTerra continue work closely to deliver next generation of RFIC products." said Dr. Narain Arora, Senior Vice President of Design Technology at SilTerra Malaysia.

"Being a world-class RFCMOS foundry provider, SilTerra will continue invest in RF design kits and strengthen our RF technical support team to support growing RF customer base, targeting the 2.4GHz/5.8Ghz Wireless data, Bluetooth, Cellular RF, Cordless Phone, GPS and WLAN applications. Our latest 0.13-micron RFCMOS technology already in pilot production and we have released the latest 4fF/um2 stacked Metal-Insulator-Metal Capacitor in our 0.18-micron RFCMOS technology." he said.
