Super Talent Launches MLC SATA-II SSDs for Notebooks

Super Talent Technology has launched a line of MasterDrive solid state drives (SSDs) that are 100% interchangeable with hard disk drives (HDDs), but are lighter, use less power and are far more rugged and reliable. The MasterDrive MX drives support sequential read and write speeds up to 120 and 70 MB/sec, respectively, and come in 30, 60, and 120 GB versions. Offered in 30 and 60 GB models, MasterDrive DX devices support read/write speeds up to 120 and 40 MB/sec. With 2.5-inch form factor, rugged drives use NAND Flash as well as 3 Gbps SATA-II interface to support high bandwidth and broad compatibility with motherboards. They also utilize wear-leveling algorithms to extend drive life. Pricing is approximate as of announcement date and may change without notice. Usable capacity is less than specified after formatting.
