Micronas has announced two members of its varioHAL family of fully-integrated Hall-effect sensors with digital interfaces enabling robust and reliable data transfer in harsh automotive environments. Reliable data transfer is ensured with HAL 2830 and HAL 2850, which integrate MCU, temperature sensor, on-chip compensation, and digital output format. While HAL 2850 features PWM interface and can be programmed to send pulses at speeds from 30-2,000 per second, HAL 2830 has SENT interface and provides reference calibration pulse at beginning of signal as well as checksum at end to detect errors. Both models offer 12-bit accuracy, open-drain outputs, and slew-rate control.
The HAL 2830 and HAL 2850 are offered in a TO-92UT package rated for use from -40 to +170°C. Pricing and availability vary with model.
