Wenzel has developed its CMM sensor technology. The optical CMM sensor, called the Phoenix, is providing better accuracy and higher productivity results for inspecting sheet metal components. The Phoenix is suited for inspecting round and square holes, slots, and spherical features on car bodies and computer chassis, as well as flush-and-gap tolerances on car and truck body parts. The Hybrid system combines high-resolution image processing benefits of CCD camera in X-Y plane with multiple laser triangulations for measuring Z plane. Triangulation is produced in 2 orthogonal directions. The sensor is 120 x 12 x 90 mm, with working distance from measured feature up to 100 mm.
