Siemens Introduces SIL 3 Certified HART Analog Input Module

Siemens Energy & Automation has introduced SIMATIC SM 336, the TUV SIL 3 certified HART failsafe analog input module. Available for use with SIMATIC ET 200M I/O and PCS 7F process safety systems, the failsafe SIMATIC SM 336 supports single, dual, and triple redundancy architectures. HART communications and diagnostics are set up from central computer with SIMATIC PDM software, eliminating need for field configuration. All diagnostic information from devices is readily available on central computer, and there are 6 isolated HART analog inputs between channels and its backplane bus. The module provides short circuit protection and supports two or four-wire transmitters. Local LED displays indicate failsafe operation, channel specific faults and HART status.
