Maxim Integrated Products has introduced its MAX4996/MAX4996L triple double-pull/double-throw (DPDT) switches for multiplexing signals up to 670MHz. To enable high-frequency switching, these switches feature low on-resistance (2.0 ohms, typ), low on-capacitance (6pF, typ), and low power consumption (3 microamps, typ). The MAX4996/MAX4996L provide three logic inputs to control the switches in pairs. Consuming only 10 microamps (max) supply current when the logic inputs are not rail-to-rail, these switches are well suited for applications that must interface directly with low-voltage processors. The high-frequency switching of the MAX4996/MAX4996L enables multiplexing SDHC (SD 2.0) and SDIO interfaces for portable applications such as cell phones, PDAs, and portable media players (PMPs). Available in a space-saving, 3.5mm x 3.5mm, 24-pin TQFN package, the MAX4996/MAX4996L operate from a 2.5V to 5.5V supply-voltage range and are fully specified over the -40 degrees Celsius to +85 degrees Celsius extended temperature range. Prices start at $1.80 (1000-up, FOB USA).
