Stackpole Expands Thick Film User Trimmable SMD Chip Resistors

(Product News, 23 May 2008 )

Stackpole Electronics has announced an expansion to the FCR Series trimmable chip resistor. The FCR Series trimmable chip resistors are not laser trimmed and do not have passivation coating which allows user to place part in end product and then calibrate/tune circuit to desired parameters using laser/abrasion wheel on resistive element itself. Units offer resistance values from 1  up to 1 M with 200 ppm standard TCR. Available in 7 in. tape and reel packaging, they provide 5 different resistance tolerance options for most applications including ±5%, ±10%, ±15%, +0/-20%, and +0/-30%. The FCR Series has added the 0402 and 2512 to the previously available standard EIA sizes from 0603 to 2010. It is available in resistance values from 1 ohm up to 1 Meg ohms with 200 ppm standard TCR. There are 5 different resistance tolerance options to provide enough flexibility for most applications including ±5%, ±10%, ±15%, +0/-20%, and +0/-30%. The FCR is a 100% RoHS compliant series and is available in standard 7" tape and reel packaging. Pricing varies greatly with size and tolerance and ranges from around $22 per thousand to $55 per thousand in minimum quantities.
