Austriamicrosystems Rolls Out AS5134 Angle Position Sensor

Austriamicrosystems has expanded its magnetic rotary encoder family with the AS5134. Qualified to AEC-Q100, the AS5134 Rotary Encoder IC supports commutation of brushless DC motors in ambient temperatures up to 150°C. With 8.5-bit resolution, unit can recognize 360 positions within one 360° turn and is accessible with serial or PWM interface. Device features 3 programmable incremental outputs and 1-6 pole pairs. Housed in SSOP-20 package, IC offers power saving mode with power consumption of less than 1.5 mA and start-up time of less than 250 µs. Due to the wide ambient temperature range of -40°C to 150°C no additional temperature compensation and calibration of the device is required. The AS5134 is available in a lead-free SSOP-20 package.
