Miniature Transil Family from STMicroelectronics

(Top News, 26 May 2008 )

STMicroelectronics has introduced the SMM4F family of unidirectional Transil voltage surge-suppression diodes, which improves performance in three key areas by delivering high protection within a small footprint, reducing leakage current for low losses, and raising maximum junction temperature for enhanced reliability. With ability to protect against 400 W 10/1,000 µsec surges, the SMM4F family of unidirectional Transil voltage surge-suppression diodes have low leakage current of 0.2 µA and maximum leakage current of 1 µA at 85°C. Family includes 14 devices with stand-off voltages between 5-33 V and 175°C maximum junction temperature rating. With footprint of 3.8 x 1.9 mm, units are suited for SMPS, consumer electronics, computing devices, and telecom equipment. The SMM4F family is housed in the RoHS-compliant and halogen-free, JEDEC-registered STmite package. Production units are available at $0.10 for quantities of 10,000 pieces and above. Sample quantities are also available.
