LitePoint Makes Taiwan a Wireless Focal Point

(Business and Technology News, 09 Jun 2008 )

Recognizing Taiwan as a key region in the wireless value chain, LitePoint is creating a "center for wireless excellence" in the Neihu district of Taipei.

"LitePoint’s focus and test-system solutions are wireless, and we’ve carved out a leadership position in Taiwan -- a hot bed of wireless development and manufacturing," said Luc Schoups, LitePoint senior VP of worldwide sales. "In the wireless market, one day late may be one day too long. Having the responsiveness and expertise, our Taipei office can provide adds to our customers’ successes," he added.

"LitePoint revolutionized wireless testing in Taiwan and we worked hand-in-hand with them as a partner," replied Steve Hsu, ACE Solutions general manager. "Its center of wireless excellence adds more strength to an already strong partnership with our many customers in Taiwan. The initiative opens the way for unlimited success."

"We are thrilled about this news," added Jorson Tsai, Gemtek Technology Senior Vice President. "We've had an excellent relationship with LitePoint and ACE because their solutions and support are first class. This initiative will bring us even closer and make their products and how we apply them even better."

Today, more than half of the world’s WiFi devices are tested by LitePoint systems, and nearly all of these WiFi devices are designed and manufactured in Taiwan. Many Taiwanese companies are now developing and manufacturing WiFi MIMO-based devices, and developing WiMAX Wave 2-based devices. WiFi and WiMAX MIMO add to the complexity of device development and manufacturing testing, making real-time support an important success factor in wireless test and product assurance. Wireless devices must meet strict standards specifications. Therefore, test procedures and accuracy are crucial factors in testing end results. LitePoint’s application engineers are experienced in wireless technologies, testing requirements, process integration, and test programs.
