NEC Asia, a wholly owned subsidiary of NEC Corp., and a supplier of information and communications technology, announced that Kiyofumi Kusaka has been appointed as the new chief executive officer.
Kusaka, an IT veteran, was in charge of IT system development and systems integration at the International Business Coordination Division of NEC Corp. in Japan from 1980 to 2000. He also served as the president for NEC Thailand Ltd and NEC Corp. (Thailand) Ltd from 2001 to 2006. Prior to joining NEC Asia, Kusaka was the general manager with the International Solutions Promotion Division at NEC Corp. in Japan.
Kusaka replaces Tomohiro Yagi, who has been leading NEC Asia, the regional headquarters for NEC Corp. in South and Southeast Asia since April 2004. Yagi will be returning to Japan, to assume the position of VP, Enterprise Solutions Business Unit at NEC Corp.
