Z-Com Launches S-Band VCO

Z-Communications (Z-Com) has announced its RoHS compliant VCO (Voltage-Controlled Oscillator) model SMV3400A-LF in S-band. Operating from 3,220-3,580 MHz with tuning voltage of 0.5-3 Vdc, the S-band Model SMV3400A-LF features typical phase noise of -80 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset and typical tuning sensitivity of 230 MHz/V. Unit delivers typical output power of 5 dBm at 3.3 Vdc supply while drawing 16 mA over temperature range of -30 to 85ºC. Housed in SUB MINI-L package measuring 0.3 x 0.3 x 0.08 inch, VCO is suited for satellite communications applications. The SMV3400A-LF is suited for satellite communication applications that require superior 2nd harmonic suppression and ultra low phase noise performance.
