Texas Instruments has released its TPS62355, a high-frequency, synchronous step-down DC/DC converter with a 0.9-V to 1.15-V default output voltage. The converter is available in chip-scale packaging. Intended for low-power applications, it supports up to 800-mA load current and allows the use of tiny, low-cost inductors and capacitors. Communication interface can be used for dynamic voltage scaling with voltage steps as small as 12.5mV. Applications for the TPS62355 include SmartReflex-compliant power supplies, cell phones, PDAs, pocket PCs and digital cameras.
