Fairchild’s Voltage Translator Simplifies Design in SD Card Apps

Fairchild Semiconductor has brought designers of Secure Digital (SD) applications a solution that simplifies design with its low voltage, dual supply SD interface voltage translator. The model FXL2SD106 has built-in automatic direction control that allows device to sense and control direction data should flow. Along with ESD protection on B side of 12 kV, it also offers output enable control feature that allows designers to disable outputs to save power when product is not in use. FXL2SD106 is packaged in 2.5 x 3.5, 16-pin DQFN packaging that features no signal pins in center, allowing designers to easily bond this package to board. The FXL2SD106 utilizes lead-free (Pb-free) terminals and has been characterized for moisture sensitivity in accordance with the Pb-free reflow requirements of the joint IPC/JEDEC standard J-STD-020.
