Maxim Integrated Products has introduced its MAX13170E multiprotocol data transceiver, the MAX13172E multiprotocol clock transceiver, and the MAX13174E multiprotocol termination IC. These three devices form a multiprotocol transceiver chipset that supports V.28 (RS-232), V.10/V.11 (RS-449/V.36, EIA-530, EIA-530A, X.21), and V.35 protocols. The BiCMOS process technology, this chipset is a pin-compatible upgrade for the MXL1543B/MXL1544/MXL1344 chipset. The MAX13170E/MAX13172E/MAX13174E achieve higher V.35 and V.11 data rates (up to 20Mbps) and provide enhanced ESD protection, making them ideal for telecommunication, data networking/routing, and PCI card applications. The MAX13170E/MAX13172E/MAX13174E operate from a single 5V supply, and are specified over the 0 degrees Celsius to +70 degrees Celsius commercial temperature range. The MAX13170E/MAX13172E are available in a 28-pin SSOP package, while the MAX13174E is packaged in 24-pin SSOP. Prices start at $5.13 (1000-up, FOB USA). Maxim Integrated Products is a publicly traded company that designs, manufactures, and sells over $2 billion of semiconductor products annually. It was founded over 25 years ago with the mission to deliver innovative analog and mixed-signal engineering solutions that add value to its customers' products.
