Energy management solution minimizes CAPEX for telecom operators

( 01 Sep 2008 )

Acme Tele Power Ltd’s comprehensive ‘energy management solution’ is for efficient telecom site operation at optimal energy cost. It is specially designed to minimize CAPEX for operators and offers a radical reduction in OPEX. This solution allows telecom operators to focus on their core business of providing services effectively to consumers, without the additional burden of running telecom sites at optimum levels.

“Energy is the single largest cost incurred at telecom sites, especially in the developing world,” said Manoj Kumar Upadhyay, managing director, Acme Tele Power Ltd. “Grid power is largely unreliable, especially in the remote areas, and operators are heavily dependent on diesel generator (DG) sets. Power from a DG is not only expensive but also causes high levels of carbon emissions, leading to global warming.”

The energy management solution incorporates next-generation Acme products which can operate in the most adverse conditions. These include multi-operator green shelters, wide-range and networked power interface units, NACC compressor-less air-conditioners together with advanced PCM thermal management systems and high efficiency batteries. The various components work seamlessly together to maximize thermal and electrical back-up, maximize cooling efficiencies, and minimize power conditioning losses. It eliminates CAPEX for operators, reduces OPEX by as much as 60 to 70 percent, and ensures much higher returns with revenue sharing out of savings.
