Spectracom Corporation has provided its Solaris 10 software driver package for the company's PCI-bus timing boards. The package allows for integration of precision timing applications into Solaris OS environment. Driver allows for set-up and control of local clock synchronization to references such as GPS or IRIG timecode. It also offers ability to generate time-based interrupts for external events, alarms, and periodic signals. Other features include support for multi-threaded applications running on multiprocessor machines. The driver has been tested to the 5/08 distribution of Solaris 10. In addition, recently Spectracom has successfully tested its Linux PCI board driver to the latest release 2.6.25.
