ESI Provides Optical Positioning System Featuring Zero Translation

Equipment Solutions Inc. (ESI) has introduced its LFA-1012 Linear Focus Actuator that features a patented zero-translation tangential flexure for high speed travel. Suited for precision optical positioning applications, the actuator features zero-translation tangential flexure. Other features include clear aperture, 0.394 inch stroke length, and standard 12 mm optics mount or optional DIN mount. Frictionless, closed loop, non-contact, sub-micron resolution linear displacement sensor is also included, lending to 150 nm positioning resolution. Short- and long-term repeatability are 200 nm and 50 ppm/1,000 hr, respectively. The corresponding SCA814 Linear Servo Controller is also available from Equipment Solutions. It is a high performance single axis DC motor controller and amplifier that was developed for applications requiring high temporal and spatial servo precision.
