Synology Announces Disk Station DS408

Synology Inc. has released its 4-bay Disk Station model, the performance yet energy-saving DS408. Equipped with 800 MHz CPU and 512 MB RAM, the Model DS408 is 4-bay disk station that provides network attached storage for large capacity applications. It reaches goal of 55+ Mb/s in RAID 5 reading and 33+ Mb/s in RAID 5 writing as well as low power consumption of 40 W under normal operation. AJAX adoption allows responsive interfaces including wizards, drag/drop, and quick search. Energy saving features include user specified power preferences. The DS408 is now shipping.
