ADLINK Technology Inc. has released a series of extension daughter boards to provide additional features for the ADLINK PCI-8154/58 4-axis/8-axis stepper and servo motion control carrier boards. The DB-815x daughter board series includes high-speed triggering and distributed I/O control, an ECAM controller, and a Motionnet master controller. The DB-8150 features trigger pulse frequencies up to 1 MHz—ideal for high-speed line scan application using cameras with a high line capture line rate. The DB-8150 is also designed for large scale object scanning applications such as TFT/LCD and PCB inspection as it can synchronously capture images with output triggering to up to 8 channels simultaneously.
The DB-8151 offers an HSL (High Speed Link) system for distributed I/O. HSL is an innovative distributed I/O technology which allows thousands of I/O points to be scanned in real time at the millisecond-level by using a master-slave architecture. The DB-8151 is able to support more than 2000 points per cycle and the cycle time can be controlled less than 1 ms as commonly required for machine automation applications. The DB-8152 adds Electronic CAM functionality to applications and controls “slave axes” which can be synchronized with the movement of the master axis while performing the same operations as the motor on the master axis. The DB-8152 is designed as a solution for common applications such as coil winding and in cutting machines. The DB-8153 provides a Motionnet system for distributed motion and supports up to 64 axes in line within 1 ms per cycle and real-time scanning. The DB-8153 reduces wiring requirements over standard motion control cards with shortened wire runs, which, in turn, reduces problems associated with faulty wiring. This remote motion module is very compact 5.2 x 1.6 x 6.9 cm size and does not require extra space for wiring.
