Emerson Network Power with Multi-Core Processing Blade

Emerson Network Power has introduced a multi-core processor blade. With dual Cavium OCTEON PLUS sixteen-core processors, the ATCA-9305 enables network equipment to handle data plane and control plane applications on same hardware. It features RLDRAM for deep packet inspection in telecom networks and PCI Express x4 port lane for design of custom rear transition module with storage. Blade is suited for data plane elements in applications such as 4G/LTE wireless, WiMAX, and IPTV as well as for control plane applications, and network gateway and edge functions.
