ATTO Ships Quad-Channel 8-Gb Fibre Channel Host Adapter

ATTO Technology has released its (up to 6400 MB/sec, Quad-Channel 8-Gb Fibre Channel Host Adapter. Featuring 1,600 MB/sec throughput per fibre channel port in full-duplex mode, the ATTO Celerity FC-84EN 8 Gb quad Fibre Channel host adapter is capable of supporting intensive data applications, including 2K/4K film editing, tape streaming/backup, and rich content delivery. It employs PCI Express 2.0 that doubles throughput of PCIe 1.1 up to 4 GB/sec. including driver support for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X driver, unit provides backward compatibility with 4 and 2 Gb legacy fibre channel. The Celerity 8-Gb Fibre Channel product line takes advantage of the latest in host interconnect technology with PCI Express 2.0 (PCIe 2.0), a serial, high-speed connection that doubles the throughput of PCIe 1.1 up to 4 GB/sec.
