GE Oil & Gas' PII Pipeline Solutions has introduced its magnetic flux leakage (MFL) pipeline inspection technology that features the powerful sensor combination and is complemented by post-run engineering services for pipeline operators. Measuring 6 in. in diameter, the MagneScan uses magnetic flux leakage technology for non-destructive detection of corrosion and other faults in pipelines. Unit includes 216 Hall Effect sensors that take readings on axial, radial, and transverse vectors every 2 mm. By combining metal loss, caliper, and mapping in single inspection run, tool automatically optimizes data alignment for defect location, direct assessment, and remediation planning. The MagneScan for 6'' pipelines is on display at the GE Booth 608 during IPCE.
