Mouser Electronics Now Stocking Actel IGLOO nano FPGAs and ProASIC 3 nano FPGAs

(Business and Technology News, 30 Jun 2009 )

Mouser Electronics Inc. announced it is the first catalog distributor to stock Actel’s IGLOO nano FPGAs and ProASIC 3 nano FPGAs. Actel is a manufacturer of nonvolatile, low-power programmable technologies at both the chip and system level, and a world leader in flash-based FPGAs.

Mouser stock includes Actel’s IGLOO nano FPGAs, which are the lowest power, smallest size FPGAs in the world. Designed for high-volume applications where power and size are key decision criteria, they are perfect ASIC or ASSP replacements, yet retain the historical FPGA advantages of flexibility and quick time-to-market in low-power and small footprint profiles.

Also in stock at Mouser are Actel ProASIC3 nano FPGAs which deliver high performance, low-power consumption, and enhanced I/O functionality. It provides an attractive alternative to ASICs and application-specific standard products (ASSPs) in fast moving or highly competitive markets.

Both the IGLOO nano and ProASIC 3 nano FPGAs are designed specifically for high-volume, cost-sensitive industrial, medical, and consumer applications.

Mike Scott, Mouser Vice President of Active Products, states, “These newest FPGA families from Actel extend their commitment to help our engineering customers create designs that maximize performance while minimizing cost, power, and space – allowing them to offer the most creative and cost efficient products to their customers. Quickly stocking Actel’s IGLOO and ProASIC3 nano and FPGAs means designers have next-day access to these for their newest designs.”
