RNCP Series Provides Twice the Normal Power Rating Compared to Standard Thick Film Technology

(Product News, 30 Nov 2009 )

Ideal for telecommunication applications, Stackpole Electronics' RNCP Series thin film resistors provide twice the normal power rating compared to standard thick film technology. Combining high power handling, high accuracy and high stability with low noise characteristics, the low-profile RNCP Series resistors are suitable for cell phone base stations, high speed data interface, HDMI and RF amplifier circuit applications, networking equipment, and communications monitoring and control.

The elimination of silver and gold make the RNCP Series devices impervious to sulfur contamination. This reduction in materials coupled with high volume sputtering processes reduces the cost of the resistor to be within 10 percent of the cost of standard general-purpose thick film chips. In addition, the RNCP Series does not have any lead-containing glass, making it RoHS-complaint without exemptions.

Featuring absolute tolerances to 1% and a TCR of 100ppm/°C, the RNCP Series resistors are available in 0402, 0603, 0805 and 1206 chip sizes, with power ratings from 0.1W to 0.5W and maximum working voltages from 50V to 200V. The RNCP Series resistors are available on standard 7-inch reels.
