Transition Networks has announced its device server product line. Serial-to-Ethernet converters provide either Fast Ethernet fiber interface or 10/100Mbps Ethernet copper interface and are offered in 4 model families. Models supporting RS-422/485 are capable of 2-wire half-duplex or 4-wire full-duplex asynchronous data transmission. Device servers also provide distributed and scalable solution with 256 virtual COM ports control from one device and are remotely manageable via Telnet, Web browser, or command line interface. The industrial models include a rugged, hardened metal enclosure and industrial grade components to withstand extreme vibration and shock as well as operating temperatures from 0C to +70C. Dual, redundant 9-48VDC power inputs are provided and dry contact relays are offered to provide alarming in the event of a port link failure or power supply failure.
